Well I'm certainly no kimo, but I think this came out ok for a first attempt, I've been wanting to try one for a bit now.

Looks good to me.

Basically same materials but tied in a different order than before

. Added the GP shoulder just to see how much stuff i could cram on a hook.

 

hook – WFC Model 6 #8

thread - UTC 140 red

tag - Danville Single Strand Floss flame orange

tail - golden pheasant crest

rib - small wire gold

body - dubbing golden olive

body hackles - golden olive (1 Tbs Rit Lemon Yellow, 1/4 Tsp Rit Sunshine Orange/1 gallon water), red

shoulder hackle - golden pheasant rump red

cloak - deer hair dyed Silver Doctor Blue (2 packs Koolaid Ice Blue Raspberry/1 cup water)

head - deer hair dyed red

Hackle for tails

Body of palmered game changer material, trimmed to shape

Bead chain eyes

 

Do you put any weight on it?

The body is just hen feathers. I just work down the cape to get the taper.

For my purposes, no weight. I'm usually fishing weighted lines on stillwater
