  5. it's a very small expo at Goldstocks Sporting Goods in Scotia NY.....It's not till the end of February.....There is usually only a table or two of people tying there...but it's fun...I went last year just to check it out....I'm feeling a lot less stage frightish now....I tattoo for a living....so tying flies in public should be no big thing....

  8. So.....I am honored to say.....that I was just invited to tie at my first tying expo ever......I have never tied at one of these before....I was invited to make bass bugs and other deer hair flies.....It's a small expo, at a place in Scotia NY where I buy most of my supplies.....There are big name tiers that I am going to be next to, like Dave Brandt.....A little nerve racking to say the least.....I know some of you do these shows...Any advice? How much stuff do I bring, do I bring display examples of other flies that I have tied? WHat do I do.......
  9. we can do 10 flies each.....is there a rule for 12 flies minimum? Mine are all done by the way.....
  10. welcome....I'm a smallie addict myself....lots of great stuff on here....
  11. Smallmouth can be just as picky as trout.....depending on the season, water temp, water clarity, stream bottom....standbys are the same pretty much anywhere you go for smallies...chartruese and white clousers.....black and chartuese works well in low visablitiy water......solid white minnow imitations.....browns, olives and blacks for bottom fishing is always a plus....smallies love the crawfish in the summer....fall is when you should study more forage fish patterns and tie accordingly.....good luck
  12. I sent some PMs to a few people that I thought might be interested in this....maybe they'll join up....It would be great if we could fill it up with 12....
  13. I think that sounds fine as well...2 flies per person.....however....I have 1 1/2 flies left to complete of my 12.....so if nobody minds receiving 2 of the same fly from me....I'm down....I'm surprised that more people didn't jump on this...I know there are a lot of warm water anglers on here that could add to this....
