  1. 3m super 77 spray adhesive. There are other options but it works great and a can should last a long while.
  2. Pete i love the o-ring idea for the norvise Very smart !
  3. A skein of fly tying chenille is 144 yards per danville chenille company. Its cheap on ebay but you can always call danville direct. You just need to know what size chenille you want. And i think they may sell in 1/2 skeins as well. So you may be able to buy half of one color snd half of another. Hit their website for color and size charts. They also make a tinsel and crystal chenille as well. Give them s try.
  4. You could go with tuffleye instead. Their light runs on 110 as well as 3aaa batteries.
  5. A microwave carousel motor turns at 6 rpm. I just gutted one out and am waiting to build another dryer. My first was made from a 33 rpm paint tint mixer that i used a speed controller to slow down to the range i wanted.
  6. The last version of that jaw configuration (prior to the newest) had the hole for the counterweight drilled on the opposite side as compared to yours above. Now norm is offering large hub arbors with a turning handle. So that the turning handle can be put on the other conversion arbors. For 20$ you can swap out a regular arbor for a drilled and tapped one.
  7. I see people selling on craigslist and etsy. Ebay has gone down the tubes as far as i am concerned.
  8. Its a great vise but now will end up in someones collection gathering dust. You know whoever drops that much $$$$ will end up displaying it.
  9. Calf tail does not have the same texture as bucktail. But is fine for small clousers. 8-10. Synthetics work fine too. Black over black with either ( silver, copper, gold, black flash ) works good in low light situations. Chartreuse over yellow ( green, yellow or chartreuse flash). More yellow than chartreuse in fresh water . Red over white. Chocolate brown over white. All white with pearl flash is another good one. You can also add color with sharpies ( bars etc). Even streamside before you wet them. Olive is a good color to keep on you in your pack or vest.
  10. Eyes dont really matter. But colors vary depending upon if you are fishing fresh water or salt water. I spoke to bob at length one day and i wrote two pages of color combos and ratios based on fresh/salt.
  11. I know where you can get tubing. Pm me for info.
  12. You could look up surgical scissors on ebay. Usually razor sharp and cheap.
  13. Anvil atlas on craigslist vancouver for 100$. Might be worth looking at.
  14. Its made by michel villeneuve in quebec. JiCi on here has one. Send a pm for pricing and email contact info.
  15. I think canada has a couple of companies making vises up there as well. I know there is a guy in quebec. When i find his info ill post it.
  16. I know tuffleye can be cured With blue and clear lights now. But depending on how the resin is formulated will dictate what light spectrum it needs to cure correctly.
  17. I use tuffleye and their light can be used with aaa or with an ac adaptor. I have never put batteries in my light. I just plug it in when i want to use it.
  18. Tremendous work. Do the norvise conversions interchange with your fine work? You may find your self busy making more of these fine vises.
  19. I have a mixture of bobbins. S&m, rite 2x. Norbobbins x5. Griffin, and a few odd balls. I use them all. I may add a j bobbin. And perhaps a tmc or two.
  20. I am forever scanning the loading dock at work for possible tying material before it ends up in the dumpster. All sorts of semi rigid foam for poppers and thin foam for other uses. Never mind the black mesh tubes that protect the fiber optic cables we use. They make great sand eel flies. And i get free tube fly tubesfrom damaged fiber optic drop wires. Just takes a little effort. Its a sickness if you ask my wife. To me its recycling!!
  21. Another thing to look for is bead stores. I am lucky to have a couple in my area and i can get hundreds (500+) of glass beads for less than 2$. Compare that to killer caddis beads which you only get a fraction of that for more $$$. The beads are the same. Just need to know what colors you are looking for. I got a lifetime supply of beads for very short money. The craft store beads were overpriced and made in china. Not as consistant as the japanese beads from the bead stores. Also the bead store had colored copper wire for a lower price than ultra wire. Great for wire bodied buzzers.
  22. My daughter caught me plucking fur off some of her stuffed animals for dubbing. That did not go well.
