  1. I was lucky enough to spend some time with the Shoshone people at Wind River Indian Reservation this past weekend. I went with Jay Johnson whom some of you may know from the Costa Geobass series. Talking to our host, it seems that many of the younger kids are interested in learning to fly fish. Jay and some others went up over the summer and taught some of the kids the basics. I told our host I would love to tie some flies to send up there for the kids. Right now, I'm trying to put together some little kits for the kids. My plan is to put together a 4 or 5 little assortments of 10 flies for them. Simple stuff like buggers, Hare ears, PTs, caddis, etc. If anyone feels like helping with that or has fly boxes or other stuff to donate please get in touch with me and we can figure something out.
  2. Some great ties this month so far. Can't wait to see what the last week brings. Merry Christmas everyone.
  3. Thanks Roland and Harold. I appreciate the compliments. Also, Cream, wow. I love it.
  4. My take on the Fly Fish Food double-wide cheech leech. I posted a swim video of it on my instagram if anyone wants to check it out. Looks really great in the water.
  5. Still messing around with articulated sliderish ideas. The close up is the spun deer hair head after coating it with gold waterproof t-shirt puff paint. I really like the way it turned out. Sometimes getting weird on the vise pays off.
  6. Just love the articulated muddler minnow if that's what it is .Might have to tie some of those for brownies Thanks man. The first one was kind of something I just tied up. After that I stumbled on the Fly Fish Food video for their articulated slider Here is the link for their how to: http://www.flyfishfood.com/2015/02/articulated-trout-slider.html the Gold one was my attempt to copy it.
  7. Been messing around with some articulate d sliders inspired by fly fish food. I call the last one Rufio. These little flashy guys have been doing pretty well for me too.
  8. I saw it at the local fly shop. This is the stuff: http://flymenfishingcompany.com/products/chockletts-big-game-body-tubing I'd say your local shop could order it or you can probably find it at one of the big online fly shops.
  9. This are pretty damn good looking NoSlack
  10. Anybody tie anything up with Chocklett's body tubing? I'm thing about getting some to mess around with and figured I'd look for some inspiration.
  11. Nice ties. Thanks. I appreciate it. A lot of good flies to start the month so far. The black one I was holding in my hand caught this nice little brownie on the Frying Pan last weekend.
  12. Some flies for December so far: This is my favorite new streamer to tie. Flash. Marabou tail. Black polar chenille and purple schlappen tied and paltered flyfishfood complex twist style. Repeat for first hook. Rubber legs optional. Buck tail collar. Fish skull. Pretty easy tie.
  13. Tried my hand at some spey/intruder style flies for the first time. I've got a long way to go with those. I like the looks of this one a lot.
  14. I appreciate the compliment. I have had things show up a week or more after they were supposed to so I'm not giving up total hope yet.
  15. Never came. Oh well. Still glad to be a part of it.
  16. Haven't received mine yet. I've had some problems with mail delivery lately and I'm hoping these didn't fall victim as well. Sounds like a good mix of flies. Crossing my fingers.
  17. Late for Halloween, but a ghost streamer I came up with. Marabou, flash, craft fur, chenille, and laser dub. size 18 peasant tail.
  18. In the mail. Thanks for organizing.
  19. Same. Tying tonight. Can mail out tomorrow. Need the address though.
  20. This fly I posted earlier this month definitely produced.
  21. Long time lurker. First time poster. Some flies off the vise for September as well as a nice bow from the Frying Pan caught on the last little BWO emerger. (that's a dime for reference)
  22. I'm in. First swap ever. I'm going with my griffin's gnat variant. Edited to add - long time lurker, never post. Check out my instagram at jackson__jk if I need validation. Thanks
