Well, actually I was working whole week and I have to for whole another week... bad luck The fishing season will start soon... Hardly wait...
  4. I think some of you know who Mirjana Pavlič or Mirjana Brinkhoff is? I know her very well, she fishes the same river as I do, and she is a member in our fishing club...
  5. Well, is there an option to get your tying bench in Europe. I would like to have one. If not, I will just have to made it myself with a little help of my neighbour
  6. Happy birthday in my name too!!! But, have I got this right? Wonam interested in flyfishing? Is that true? Have I read it right? Oh my sweet baby Jesus and the orphants!!!
  7. Had any of you problems with rust on Partridge hooks? I'm thinking that is no worth buying hooks that rust so fast as Patridge, and are threetimes expenciver than Tiemco or Hayabusa. It is true that it is hand made, but still. IT IS THAT DAMNED CORROSION
  8. At that time I will be sleeping as a baby Perhaps sometimes when I will be on duty at night.
  9. Ups, I have made a mistake. That is 11.56am I think
  10. Here is now 23.56 That means 11.56pm
  11. Is there anytime anyone on the chat? I would like to talk to you guys in live sometimes...
  12. Jim that is black nickel hook!
  13. I have checked on those hooks I have mentioned. It is Mustad Aberdeen Ref.3261BLN But it would not hold on trophy salmon i think...

    Debarbing hooks

Well you have already figured out some things, so I will just shortly say what have I noticed during my fishing years. I use with and without barb. I always tie fly on barbed hook, and then debarb it on the water if i want to. I usualy do not debarb hooks made of thin wire. Barbless hooks are much more friendly to use for both, fish and fisherman. You can release fish easily and faster, and it does not damaged its mouth tissue as much as barbed hook does. On the other side, if you "catch" yourself, it is no problem to get out barbless hook by yourself. Last years I usually fish only barbless hooks - nymphs, dries and streamers - and there is absolutly no difference in loosing fish! And as someone has alreday written down, barbless hook penetrates easily and you can hook up fish easily. Specialy large trouts, salmons (in my case europe salmon-hucho hucho), pikes etc. Tight lines!
  15. Don't wory, I have enough of those hooks for all my life I have purchased it last year, besides that, my friend has a tackle shop and he has plenty of those hooks on stock. It does not sells good, because people in our countrie are obviously affraid to fish for trout with big streamers. Lucky me
  16. What rod, and leader were you using? And what kind of fish could that be? I think buggers are deadly for rainbows and brook trouts... Brown colour is my favourite!
  17. I had 76 flyfishing days on rivers and streams, 14 flyfishing days on ponds and little lakes. Beside that I went spinning for asp and europe catfish for around 10 times...
  18. I forgot to say - I use it mostly for streamers (different types of wooly buggers and sculpins). I will check the exact type and write it down during this weekend.
  19. Well, I have used a lot of Mustad hooks and I was not completley satisfied. The biggest problem is corrosion and too big barb. However, there is one model that I use very often. I do not know the exact type, since I am not at home, I will chet during the weekend, but it is special hook for saltwater, aberdeen type. It is very very sharp, has a little barb so it penetrates easily. Perhaps it is too thin, but no fish has straightened it yet... I strongly recomend it!
  20. Well, I use Ken Baker style streamer hooks a lot, and I am very satisfied with Patridge. However, the price is high, but it is worth every cent (eurocent ). We will just have to wait and see what the time will bring to us...
  21. I fish sometimes on little lakes for rainbows, carp, chub and somtimes pike. I mostly use Sage GFL #6 RPL and DT5F line. But what kind of fly do I tie on depends of the species I want to catch. For trout and chub my favourites are brown wooly bugger on hook nr. 2-10, and damsel nymphs. For carp I use mostly glo bug, and for pike different streamers, like scuplins and leech patterns tied from zonker strips...

    Hello!

Well, thank you all! I do not think there is a mayor difference between patterns used in our and your country. It looks like all things have "globalized" However, I like to tie very much, and I will try to photo some of my favourite patterns and post them. But I do not know when this will be, since I'm very busy lately.

    Hello!

Well, I found this site, surfing on the internet. I am a great flyfishing maniac, I come from Slovenia - Europe. I mostly fish for grayling, brown trouts and rainbows, but also for europe salmon (hucho hucho) chub, carp and pike. Here is the biggest rainbow from last season. Sory for bad language. Best wishes! Gregor P.S. I have troubles with setting up my avatar picture, any advices?
