  5. i started on a thompson A vise , now i use a griffon patriot cam vise. i love it.
  6. i go to my wife's uncle's fly shop. very close to me and i can't beat the price's! (anything in rhode island isn't far away anyweay lol)

  9. i live in rhode island and fish salt a few times a year. love stripers or false albacore on a fly!! but for the most part i fly fish for trout
  10. i agree with anything that uses peacock herl!! dont know what it is but the trout love it!!

    HELP!

    the first fly i ever tyied was a hairs ear nymph(well that was what it was supposed to be lol) it was very messy, rib was coming loose and dubbing was falling off lol, but it was the fly i used and caught my first brookie on it! so go ahead and use them!! keep tying and they will inprove, you'll see. good luck . budd.
  14. i use the bags that my stuff comes in from the fly shop also. my wife's uncle owns the fly shop so i can a few bags when i need them lol

    how do you fish a fly like that? does it float ? is it submerged? just wondering. very nice job on it!!

    i use a spray that cortland line co. makes. works good for me and last's quite a while.

  18. hello all i'm new here and just found this forum doing a web search on google. seems like a very nice site and i plan to be back often. i'm in rhode island and opening day for trout is 6 days away!!! went to a pretty good fly tying and fly fishing symposium yesterday(saturday) very nice time there and perfect timing for it , one week b4 opening day. well very nice site u have here and i'll post again soon. good luck all this season, budd.
