My wife and I got back Friday from our trip to Eagle Lake in Ontario. Fishing was good and everyone was exceptionally helpful as she is about five weeks out from two surgeries. Bass had already spawned and were transitioning out of shallow water. Walleyes were in summer spots. Used primarily Tequeelys and used a black one with yellow legs. The Hex hatch was starting and it was a good match for the nymphs. The electronics on the boat showed clouds of them working towards the surface. We caught a number of walleyes on flies and also had a number of followers. The weather was good, we went from shorts on day 2 to bibs on day 3. A cold front dropped the temperature 30 degrees and brought the smoke in the afternoon. Day 4 was delightful. IMG_0846.jpegYou can sort of see the Tequeely in the month. A great trip and smooth border crossings.
