cruncher 0 Report post Posted June 14, 2006 Shipped out during lunch today. Lady at Post Office went koo-koo and taped the heck out of the box. I usually just use one strip of tape to keep it closed because I've used this box a couple of times already. Maybe she was paranoid ( ) something was going to happen or she saw what sweet flies were inside. :hyst: Just use a knife or razor blade and cut the tape where needed and you should be fine to use it to ship back when ready. day5 0 Report post Posted June 16, 2006 Do not feel bad for sage it is his own fault for hooking up with a woman who could thoroughly kick his ever livin tail!!!! But It is not legal and is frowned upon to marry a 5 year old. so I guess he is stuck getting his butt whooped!!!

Spanky 0 Report post Posted July 3, 2006 :yahoo: Just thought I'd let you guys know that I field tested the Sparrows I tied today on the Tuckaseegee near Sylva, NC. This section of the Tuck is Delayed Harvest (special regs) and can be very tough after it is opened to the bait fishers. I had managed a 10-11 inch brown on a yellow soft hackle out of a small pod of trout that were feeding just below the surface. I let my son try my rod hoping he would have similar luck. Meanwhile I tied on one of the sparrows I did for the swap and within a few casts had a 12 inch rainbow trying his best to wrap me around a tree. I managed to bring him to hand and he joined the brown as our supper tonight. It is such a good feeling to know you have a good pattern especially when you prove it on tough water. bowfin47 0 Report post Posted July 4, 2006 Spanky, I've been tying and fishing various sparrows for well over 20 years. In the swap, you'll receive a "Rusty" Sparrow"... my favorite and by far most productive variation. Gartside claims that the Sparrow in a non specific pattern that mimics a number of organisms, but when tied "rusty", it has proven to be a wonderful small crawfish imitation.
