MisterChubbs 0 Report post Posted June 19, 2006 If you're "hiring out" for inventorying your materials. Or if your comment in the plastic storage isle is "this is as big as the have?!?!?"
Crotalus 0 Report post Posted June 19, 2006 When you hear that ripping sound as the space-time continuum is torn apart. the theory that you can have enough tying materials goes against the very laws of nature and physics.
letumgo 0 Report post Posted April 17, 2010 Four years later and I still "need" more fly tying material. I think I now have enough dubbing to carpet my entire bedroom, and yet couldn't resist buying more from FTD during his recent Tax Day Sale...

riffleriversteelheadslayer 0 Report post Posted April 17, 2010 ok Ray I pondered the thought of this and came up with this answer when the fly shops in your area start calling you to fill orders they have on back order
Cheri 0 Report post Posted April 17, 2010 ok Ray I pondered the thought of this and came up with this answer when the fly shops in your area start calling you to fill orders they have on back order LOL! Enough there is never enough! I was in the hobby shop today feeling stuff and saying what nice tail material it would make. Some lady gave me strange looks and hubby cracked up. :hyst:
Kirk Dietrich 0 Report post Posted April 17, 2010 Check your pulse, if you still have one, you'll buy more materials. Gotta love the comment about the flyshop calling you when they are backordered. Kirk

smokinprice 0 Report post Posted April 17, 2010 Its funny how every time I get a new fly tying book or magazine, that half of the patterns use materials that I do not have, but somehow "need" after reading about them. I end up buying various materials to try them out, even though I've got plenty of other materials at home that would make fine substitutions. I'm just curious to know what signs to look for the know when I have enough materials... :j_k: :hyst: I know this is an older thread but man how true is this? I do this every damn time I read a new fly fishing magazine. I am always buying new materials because it seems like whatever pattern I choose to make I dont have the materials for. Drives my wife nuts!

DrVette 0 Report post Posted April 19, 2010 I'm Pis*ed i missed that swap! I will second that sentiment...any chance of it happening again? You know you have enough materials when the local schools start having tours through your tying room since you have more animal parts than the local zoos and museums combined. Or the the local zoo has weekly hunting raids through your tying room to recapture the escapees that have come looking for mates???
