Jon G 0 Report post Posted November 1, 2006 I am currently the manager of a Speedy Muffler shop , i have been a technician in the army and also an auutomotive technician at both dealerships and independent shops. i am hoping to get out of the bustle and maybe move to teaching automotive apprentices at a local college (Can't beat the holidays!). i have owned an automotive franchise and would do it again with a little more cash backup . Being your own boss rocks.. Ah.. that dream has to wait I now have a wife , a 2 year old and a 1 year old suffice to say that free cash is non existent now.. I guess you could call me a Central Office tech....or low man on the totem pole!! lol 7out of the 10 guys that work in my area/department have more than 35 years in service. and the 8th out of 10 has 26years!!! :bugeyes: So I figure in about 5 years or so I'll be one of the top 3 :dunno: I work 3rd shift which....when I'm not busy...I get to enjoy some time on the vise. :headbang: Quote Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

Not big money but a tax deduction for fishing trips! I guess life could be worse. By the way Joe you are doing great - with your determination and positive attitude I have no doubt you will realise your dream. Good luck with it, you have been very courageous in my view. And I do prototype work for a west coast climbing company on the side. In 8 months my youngest son graduates from high school and I will be accepting an offer to work for the climbing company out west.
