Ott lights

Recommended Posts

I'm not sure how far and wide Michaels Craft Shops extend to, but I was at one yesterday and they had 30% off their Ott Lights. Since it is a chain store, this may extend to all of their stores, if anyone is looking. :)

I have a 13W Ott light, I like it pretty well. The fl. tube crapped out after a year though. replacement tubes are spendy! about $15. I think I paid $80 for the light to begin with.

Sunday's paper almost always has a Michael's ad.... and that ad almost always has a "50% off one item" coupon. When I can wrangle it away from my wife, it's great for getting things like lighting or a woodburner or a gluegun.

What's the model of that Ott Lite. I don't think there's any of those stores here in Pa. I guess I'll search around. We use the Ott Lite bulbs at work. World of difference over what we used to use. The website said Staples and JC Penny guess I'll try there. I was thinking of the Magnifier Task Lamp (OTL 13 Mag) Is this the one or is there a better one that everybody is using. Thanks, Robt.

It could be a district or regional sale, so you may not find it. I thought it was worth mentioning incase it was in your areas as well. :)

I went to Lowe's for a replacement bulb, and they had the name-brand Ott replacement lamps on the shelf over a sticker that said "13w fluorescent replacement lamp" - for $5 - I grabbed two, when they rung up for near $15 each I had them call the lighting dept. guy, and I got them for $5 each. Good deal for me, but the lighting guy was PO'd at whoever stocked the shelf.

I've probably spent $10K there since I bought my house, so I'm not feeling too bad about it. :P
