Carlin 0 Report post Posted December 19, 2007 It's a crisp -8F outside with not a cloud in the sky and as I looked out the window the moon was just begging for a photo shoot. This was taken hand held with a Canon EF 100-400/4.5-5.6L USM IS lens and Canon 1.4X teleconverter on my 30D; ISO 640, 400mm (x1.4), f/5.6, 1/250sec. I had to manually focus due to the teleconverter, so out of about 50 shots with different settings and focus, maybe 3 or 4 came out nice and clean like this one. Some minor tweaking in Lightroom and this is what I got.

Ashby 0 Report post Posted December 20, 2007 Nice shot of the moon. I think your shot just sealed the deal for my wife and me wanting a Canon 40D. Of course that will be in Jan when I get that bad boy. This shot though, is one of the best of the moon I have seen. Very nice! Ashby
troutgeek 0 Report post Posted December 20, 2007 Amazing shot -- very nice. Hand held at that? Tack sharp -- I would swear that was a tripod shot. Thanks for sharing.
