willowhead 0 Report post Posted October 15, 2008 i angled the fly in this pic just a bit so you could more better see the bead in the rear end..........it's black with pink shells on it........pretty little bead. The rear body material is one of those Enrico Puglisi(sp?) dubbing brushes wraped very tightly in super close turns. The front half is black Polar Chenille and the collar is just a Barred Woddy feather. As always, head and eye dyed to match the over-all color scheme of the fly. mark..... Steeldrifter 0 Report post Posted October 17, 2008 Pretty slick. I didnt know EP had dubbing brushes. I started using the EP fibers last year and liked them, then just today picked up some of the EP "sparkle" fibers. Which I really like, but they are a pain to work with because they are so light& "airy" for lack of a better term. I'll have ti check out the brushes they have as well. Nice work on a SPOOOOKY fly! willowhead 0 Report post Posted October 17, 2008 Yeah Steve, i saw your Alewife fly using the fibers.........GREAT stuff. I really love the product called Angle Hiar........put it's also somewhat difficult to work with because of it's airyness and fly-away qualities. There's a bit of waste involved, but that's fly tyin'. mark
