Classic tier 0 Report post Posted May 31, 2009 Hi all, I've posted a fair few flies recently, so I'll just C&P this into all of my other patterns. I hope you like this fly, would more people reply to this fly, I've not had many replies to other flies I posted... Anyhow, hope you like it! Chase Creek 0 Report post Posted May 31, 2009 Very nice tie, CT. Simple, few materials, yet very effective. Thanks for posting.
Classic tier 0 Report post Posted May 31, 2009 Thanks. Yes simple and effective, sometimes I find many flies catch more fisherman then fish. Each year new flies come and go, each branded the 'ultimate' fly, when really it is these simple classic which have caught by far thousands more fish. It is beacuse they are so sucessful that they are still around and deemed 'classics'. Off I go again... ( )
Chase Creek 0 Report post Posted May 31, 2009 Agreed, love those simple soft hackles, and have found myself fishing my small streams with them more and more. If you haven't seen it yet, take a look at Softhackles site - flymphforum.com There's a TON of info and ideas on soft hackles there. Mark is also a frequent contributor to this forum. letumgo 0 Report post Posted May 31, 2009 Lovely soft hackle fly! One of my favorite styles of fly for fishing. Simple, but as you say, very effective little flies. Don't fret over the lack of response to your other posts. I think it is because you posted so many flies back-to-back. It is kind of over whelming. I will simple say "Thank You" here, for posting so many flies. Great to see such enthusiasm.
Fred H. 0 Report post Posted May 31, 2009 I agree with Ray. And cold water really isn't my area ,but I allways look for a cross over pattern. You have tied some nice flies and I am happy you took the time to post them for us to see.Don't worry about the lack of response , this is prime fishing season and many that have good weather are out on the water. I am relegated to yard work today and came in to get out of the heat for a minute. It was nice to see so many beautiful patterns. Please keep posting. feathers5 0 Report post Posted June 1, 2009 Nice tie. Do you fish that at any particular time or do you use it as a searching pattern. I agree with Ray. BigDaddyHub 0 Report post Posted June 6, 2009 great little fly for the trout in mountain streams in Appalachia...simple, but deadly...never go to the mnts without at least a dozen of them, especially in 12 and
