I null voted, but my vote would be "yes". What keeps me tying is the ability to bounce from fishing flies to fishermen flies to standard patterns to my own concoctions. So really, depending on the day (or moment) and my mood, just about any of these choices could suit my mood and keep me tying.

Elk Hair caddis the key to fly tying happiness? Uhh, maybe, but not for me. It's a utilitarian fly...an ordinary fly to tie. For fishability though I give it a 10 for sure! For actual tying, I give it a 3...it's not that much fun to tie....for me.
