David Legg 0 Report post Posted February 2, 2010 Your poppers are some of the most artistic flies I have ever seen. I love the work. I am thinking about delving into the world of poppers one of these days... you make it look like so much fun!
Flyfisher13 0 Report post Posted February 2, 2010 Are these premade popper bodies? I like the premade and the foam poppers but I really love to sand and create my own balsa poppers and design them. That can really be lots of fun
Stippled Popper 0 Report post Posted February 2, 2010 Flyfisher13 Yes. I use pre-formed bodies whether in cork or soft and/or hard foam. While it is true that you will catch Dinks with these. In my experience at least when larger Bream will not normally strike larger poppers, they have been more willing to take these little guys. Perhaps they are more easily mistaken as natural in these smaller sizes.

Stippled Popper 0 Report post Posted February 2, 2010 very well done, also, all color combinations look good. are you actually going to fish them ? ~ floris These particular examples were tied for my board display when I tie at some event. But yes. These are in my fly boxes whenever I am fishing for Bream. Most of these little guys were the first ones I started doing for my Bream fishing. The only difference is that for the ones I fish the tail is Puglisi Silky Fibers and I usually don't bother with the flash.
