ColonelMel 0 Report post Posted April 13, 2010 Cheri's Blue Gill Alien flies arrived today! I've been seeing bugs by the pond that exact color of shiny green! Is it fair for the swapmeister to start fishing before the swap is over?!!! Thanks for the fancy extra one, too, Cheri!
Cheri 0 Report post Posted April 13, 2010 Glad you like them Mel. I would say it is at the swapmiester discretion, enjoy! But you need to let us know how you did.

ColonelMel 0 Report post Posted April 14, 2010 Better picture of what my wife named the olive garden. Should have them completed this weekend. Looks like an Italian feast to me... for the fish, that is! Can't wait to try it! Does it come with bread sticks????
Dantfitz 0 Report post Posted April 14, 2010 Tried it today after lunch. Got about 8 calico bass hits but landed non. Cold front is coming in and they seem to be mouthing it.
gpd4 0 Report post Posted April 15, 2010 I tied this for a swap on another board. It is a variant on the bluegill rubber legged dragon. I'm using a combination of ostrich and peacock herl in place of the chenille. I call it the twisted herl RLD. I'm still playing with the leg placement and might move them to the side. But I can report that the gills love it If this is original enough, I would like to join. Mike. Remember the Muppet Show? I want to call that fly the Skydiving Gonzo... ...can't wait to fish it! BTW, I'm tying a yellow bodied soft hackle.

riffleriversteelheadslayer 0 Report post Posted April 17, 2010 Fred calls it a foam headed frog slider but my version I think I might call it the bombadier because when you cast this and it hits the water it makes one helluva plop sound and alot of times the bass take it before you even start to strip the line in
ColonelMel 0 Report post Posted April 17, 2010 I finished mine up the other night. I've fished it several times this week in farm ponds, and have caught largemouth bass and catfish!
