Flytyer14 0 Report post Posted April 13, 2010 Yeah, but it's thicker than the tinsel they sell at cabelas.
smallieFanatic 0 Report post Posted April 14, 2010 that is what tinsel is. Well, actually tinsel is a slightly differant. Oval tinsel is round, but that doesn't look like oval tinsel to me. Heck, maybe it is, kind of hard to tell from the picture. However, regular tinsel is flat. Like this: http://www.flyfishersrepublic.com/tying/tinsel-body/ and http://www.basspro.com/webapp/wcs/stores/s...5004000_175-4-9 And this is what Oval Tinsel looks like: http://martyhoward.com/index.php?main_page...c3b8a0eded2b840

Jagerboy 0 Report post Posted April 14, 2010 Antennas, legs, tails on nymphs. Wrapped, they make nicely segmented bodies on small dries and nymphs. I love using them as wingcases on the smallest of my nymphs. I like the natural sheen on them, not quite as bright as a flashback, but not as dull as plain fibers.
