arkle 0 Report post Posted April 20, 2010 That has to be the best dragonfly tying ever. As soon as I saw it yesterday on facebook, I sent it to about 30 of my friends. The work is epic, it must have taken days. As well as the obvious features, I especially like the minute claspers at the end of the body. Congratulations. Paul vd Driesche 0 Report post Posted April 20, 2010 Finally some wings the way the are supose to be done It takes some time but it's worth the effort. Scratching can be nice but it's the quick and easy way and will never give you the nice and clean results like this. Nice work buddy. johan-p 0 Report post Posted May 10, 2010 Ok here is how I do the wings. I take a print from the wings of a dragonfly then I lay on top of it a sheet of thin clear plastic like from an overhead sheet but thinner. Then take fibers from a paintbrush, stick one end whit some varnish on a vain and then whit a needle sock in varnish follow the vain and cut of where the vain stops, repeat the process whit every vain, and that way you get some nice wings. Then draw the outside of the wings and cut the out. It is very time consuming but the result is very nice and worth the effort. I hope you guys can understand what I try to explain. Any more questions, please let me know. Johan

Johan Yeah, but will it catch fish???? J/K! Well I don’t think so because it will never touch water. But do you know the meaning of ‘’realistic fly tying’’??
