Alternatives to epoxy

Recommended Posts

Hi there,

I'm looking for a good alternative to epoxy. The new UV resins look nice and easy to use. Has anyone out there used them? did you like them? what brand would you recommend?

Thanks

I've used clear cure goo which is a sponsor of the forum and it's great and it's relatively cheap. If your going to get this get the starter pack on their website. If you didn't want to spend this much then get this thing, i;m not sure what it's called, but it's made by loon and it's imbetween an epoxy and a head cement and it doesn't smell at all.

Bug bond is the great. Loon although is better priced. Clear fly finish is what loons product is called. You can get it for pretty cheap on stockard. You also get more than twice as much.

Don't buy into all the hoopla about them being different.

Also, when you guys turn epoxy flies, how long do you spin them for and at what RPM?

Just thinking maybe my rod turner may come in handy for this application...

I have used ccg over a year now, it's simple to use and have worked great. The guys there have been very good service wise too.

I do use Liquid Fusion at times as well, but for the most part, I'm all CCG now.

i saw the 'fusion' products in joann fabrics so michaels or ac moore craft stores should carry it in their sewing sections

the 'fabric fusion' even comes in a pen style applicator

i dont think the hardware stores would carry sewing adhesives but you never know
