Chefben4 0 Report post Posted April 3, 2012 The shrimp is two different colots of craft fur and pheasant to give a leggy look. Two flash colors blended, two hackles extended, two rubber antennae, and two mono stem eyes. Rattle inserted in Mylar tubing, epoxied for strength and weight balance tied to hook shank inside body materials. Foam head, sharpies and a 5 min epoxy finish. The thing that amazes me most is the foam...Your shrimp back is pure art, I almost left it in the package, but art be damned! you tied tied it to fish...and fish it I will Haha. I was thinking the same thing. Should I hang this thing up or open it up and use it. Great flies everyone. All look awesome and I am looking forward to "washing them" in some salt! lykos33 0 Report post Posted April 11, 2012 I just received the trout swap flies in the post this morning....I am plumb ashamed of what I sent! The only thing my flies have going for them is how fast they can be tied. You guys are pure feckin' artist! (Ifn's ya don't know what "feckin" is, watch Mrs. Brown's Boys on BBC) I keep pulling this shrimp of nightheron's out and just shaking me head. Not only is the tying brilliant, the art work on the shrimp back is amazing.....sheesh...great work by everyone! Since I do not fish my swap flies, I will have to go back and find out who did what so I can label them in my shadow box...Murray
lykos33 0 Report post Posted April 11, 2012 Ahoy Swappers! Wow, what an eclectic group of flies. Each one different from the other and the work that went into some of these flies was inspiring. This was my favorite swap bar none. You guys were a pleasure to swap with. I hope you enjoy the photos. I should've have devoted more time to them, but these last few weeks have been very busy. I can't wait to get these flies in the water! Flies are going in the mail on Tuesday. Sorry about not getting them out today. Who tied the 5th and 7th...no toetags...and did anyone get their own back ? I got my own back but not #6...anyone wanna trade?

If this happened with anyone else, let me know. -Dave
lykos33 0 Report post Posted April 12, 2012 Not a problem Dave, I was just trying to match a couple of untagged flies so I could label them in the shadow box and I noticed that one was missing....don't stress over it, being a swapmeister is stress enough... Murray I'm the #2 & 7 no-tagger. I realized after I'd sent the package I forgot to do that.
