Trilene...

Ran out of Mono thread one day and had a huge spool of 2lb test trilene...was a pain filling up the thread spool but it worked as well - at least I couldn't tell the difference after hitting the wraps with a little clear nail polish.

Been a couple years and I'm still working through that spool.

I actually have all four brands in my "arsenal" and use them all for different situations/flies. If I had to narrow it down, it would probably settle into Uni with Danville running a very close second.

Pearsall's gossamer silk.

I use lots of others for different jobs, but for class there's no competition

When I first started tying I bought a full assortment of Uni-threads. Over the years I have gradually increased the amount of Danville I have. I must agree that Danville's nylon threads do seem to grab materials better. What I end up using depends on the fly I am tying. With dubbed bodies it is usually easier for me to use Uni as compared with the slicker nylon Danville products.

When it comes down to it I prefer a flat thread vs. a twisted thread. But that's me wink.gif
