Jimboha! 0 Report post Posted November 16, 2012 use tubes for your spooled materials Where do you find those tubes? I've tried in vain to google them, can't figure out the right combination of terms to get the right thing. Jimboha!
mikechell 0 Report post Posted November 17, 2012 I really liked the box that Joshua posted. I am going to order one for myself. If you left this side open and put your tools in here, this would be a very nice travel box.

But these are only 3/4" in diameter and my thread spools are closer to or over 1". However, I did finally start finding them, including these Brightwater tubes http://www.chifly.com/Product/Details/2382/Brightwater-Thread-Tubes?avad=31555_b366ba1d which have square tops so they won't roll. The problem I found is in getting the right size. Some people are not careful to specify their size as ID (inside diameter) or OD (outside diameter). Like I said, my UNI-Thread spools are just under 1", while other ones are just over an inch (both by a millimeter or so), more like a 'golden' dollar. Anyway, with mail order I can't verify that that I get the right size and I was hoping you had found a source for a tube that you knew to be the right size.
