Crackaig 0 Report post Posted August 31, 2013 When I saw this I was expecting some kind of wake fly or buoyant dry fly from the name. Water Displacement formula 40 (WD40) would seem to suggest that. Still, nice fly. I could see it working here tied with a very bright green body. Cheers, C.
m_grieb 0 Report post Posted August 31, 2013 A couple years ago everybody was nailing fish on these. Still one of my favorite patterns ever. Matt

DUBBN 0 Report post Posted August 31, 2013 I like the WD 40 and WD50, in a variety of colors. Olive has been my most productive, with Black a close second.
sthpaw 0 Report post Posted September 3, 2013 I think the WD refers to it originally being tied with wood duck. Nice video. Thanks. Are those the standard Danvise jaws? they look finer than mine.
HammerCreek 0 Report post Posted September 4, 2013 Sorry I've been off the grid for a bit doing some fishing up north. I agree with all the above, nice easy pattern you can tie them really small and fish them well behind a dry or nymph. Standard danvise jaws in the video, but a different vise in the picture....happy to say any new videos made after Thursday will be on a new Renzetti 2000!!!
