FTF Fly Pattern - Cristian Gaetan - GAETAN NYMPH - WORLD BEST NYMPH

Recommended Posts

I think a better name would have been "Humility"

I might have to try this out, if any one can get a fly to fail, it's me... The J-Kno litmus test... lol

That's quite a claim Cristian. How did you come to this conclusion?

Hello Friends. I have humility, but the fly is not humble.
I have no doubt about its condition of being among the top 10 in the world flies. I have NO doubt about the effectiveness of this pattern. I've used a lot in recent months and have tied several identical patterns too, I distributed among fishermen friends and acquaintances. All have agreed on how amazed they are by the enormous amount of trout that achieves this fly.
Yes I am humble. The pattern is not humble.
In an ordinary river, where an amount is ordinary fishing for trout, this fly does an extraordinary action.

Cristian - How do YOU fish this pattern normally?

Upstream shed. Parallel to the river. Correct bit. No pick, no Streaper. The fly fishing almost alone.

Tungsten for big rivers or streams with a lot of water. Bead Head classics to streams, creek, or sliding area in big rivers.

Have you ever tried it in stillwater?

Not many trout around my part of the Southern USA, but plenty of bass and bluegill.

I like the look of this bottlebrush derivitive and will try it next season.
