FYI: Quick update on the online radio station - Post, and an update from Australia - Update. Looks like at least one Trout has been caught from down under! Going to see if the new fishing fly - John Deere Fishing Fly works as well as the Near Deere!

Cold and windy conditions made things tough but after while found the pattern - no retrieve, no indicator, and drift an Olive Near Deere or a John Deere fishing fly, .... Here is a video of today's action; footage focuses on the strike and hook sets rather than reeling the fish in in order to show what we mean by no retrieve. Hope it's helpful to our Readers! Saturday's Video. May need to add the John Deere fishing fly and make it "Four Suggested Fishing Flies for Trout"!

Less wind compared to yesterday but much colder. Was breaking ice from the rod guides. At one point about every third cast, had to stop casting to break the ice. Action was slow on the fly but bait fishermen were doing well on PowerBait and PowerWorms.... good thing we bundled up and brought gloves! Today's Video.

FYI: Question from one of our Readers asking how we attach our line to a Tenkara rod's lillian. We basically use a loop to loop connection to attach our line. To better illustrate the loop to loop connection, we posted a Video.

Managed to limit out with five Rainbow Trout. All went for an Olive Near Deere. Also, caught two Striped Bass that went for a Near Deere as well. And, caught several Perch that looked like Longear; one went for a Near Deere, remainder went for a Rainbow Warrior.

Key today was the retrieve. Have caught trout before when swinging a fishing fly in fast current with most strikes happening at the end of the swing. Have not used a "twitching" movement as the fishing fly works its way downstream. But, whatever works! Saturday's Video.

Made a few Olive Near Deere; was running low. Hope to try them out this weekend!

Post.

Made it to the Blue River (OK) today. Limited out but it took some work. Cold temps, frozen guides, and a frozen reel, too. Doesn't get any better than that! Will post a video later; still editing. Pink and White Near Deere were the go to fishing flies this round!

Video is done. Overall, had a great time "working hard" to get a limit on the fly! Saturday's Video.

Fished the Blue yesterday. Caught three; took some work but still a great time! Overall, was a really nice (warmer than normal) day to be on a river fishing! Today's Video.

Two went for a White Near Deere; one went for a Black Midge. Had lots of surface activity; fish were feeding on something. Tried a Midge Emerger and had them take it several times but missed the hook set. Also, had two go for a Rainbow Warrior and missed them as well.
