Dubbing loop bs splitting thread

In my post I was referring to bulk at the tie-down point after the loop has been wrapped. I never get the loop exactly the right length. So it's either remove the excess dubbing or tie down over it. It's not usually a big deal though. With split thread there is a clean transition from dubbing to thread with no tie-down.

 

ive alwasy created dubbing loops with 1-2 wraps of thread so bulk at the tie in point is irrelavent as it will be eventually covered up by the the first wrap of the dubbing

Try a dubbing loop on a safty pin? I'm doing it now for a swap!
