BlueFrog 0 Report post Posted December 1, 2016 I've an old splitcane that I had for years & decided to renovate it one day, the cork was really dirty. Order some Magic Sponges from China, came up like brand new, just rub lighty, make sure you soak the sponge first then squeeze it nearly dry.
rstaight 0 Report post Posted December 4, 2016 Steeldrifter threw out what I feel is the best option for cleaning. The trick Crackaig posted is the same thing I have done for stainable filler on wood working projects. Take some sanding dust from the material of your project, mix with glue and cram it into the defects. When dry sand it smooth and apply your finish. vicrider 0 Report post Posted December 23, 2016 You guys sticking flies in cork should have your hooks cut off at the barb to stop that crap. If you don't have a hook holder pull enough line out to wrap around reel and back up to first keeper guide. This also helps keep the leader out of the rod tip so when you're ready to fish you don't have to pull that clear.
heavynets 0 Report post Posted January 1, 2017 Put a few coats of Beechwood Casey's Tru-Oil on the cork and it will never get dirty.
