My brother-in-law just got back turkey hunting. He is saving an entire turkey "pelt" for me. My question is, other that the tail feathers, and I would assume the paired wing feathers, is there any other use for the rest of the body?

Haven't ever fished for carp. Looking at possible patterns, they all look above my ability. I'll have to pass on this swap.

I have a bobbin that I got with my kit too. Every time I used it it would instantly break my 6/0 thread. I think I have a burr in it, the thread seems to pull freely enough. I spent about $15.09 on a ceramic bobbin, not sure what brand it is but it works very well. I use the "bad" one for my lead wire.

Is there an easy way to fold my hackle when tying a collar on a wet fly?

What is the name of this fly?

Second attempt.

Close to a three musketeers, my wife was eating a granola bar. I walked over and snatched the wrapper out of her hand and ran to the table. This is what came out. My first Zug Bug.

Flytire, seeing that you are a red Sox fan, I was a little skeptical about your post... Upon further review, what you said makes a lot of sense. I'm picking up what your laying down. Seriously though, you all have supplied me with a plethora of genius ideas. Thank you all for your time and effort. I look forward to trying all these ideas.

I live in a smaller rural city, biggest we got is Walmart. Not much to choose from there. I was thinking it had to be silver for the body but gold will work for the zug bug?

I do counter wrap the wire. I have read and also seen on video about how weak peacock is and that counter wrapping helps strengthen the Beatles. But I never thought of winding several strips together. We also have a small quilting shop here in town, maybe I'll drag the wife in there so I don't look too out of place. Thank you all for your help.
