mrbamboo 0 Report post Posted February 22, 2019 I am trying to tie some of the older flies, like Adele, Joe O'Donald and Jim O'Donald. I own Trout in 1940 & 1978 where they are mentioned, but there is no color plate or recipe to tie them, and have come up empty after doning a search of the web and have not found anything. Are they in a different book?
tjm 0 Report post Posted February 22, 2019 In this thread the Fandel "Adele" is mentioned as being the "red trout minnow" also interesting to note only two editions but many printings 1938 & 1952 http://annalsofflyfishing.proboards.com/thread/190/first-edition-bergmans-reference-needed

utyer 0 Report post Posted February 22, 2019 Norm, I noticed the Provo River Streamer pattern in your image of plate 16. My edition of Trout doesn't have these new streamers. Could you post the description of that pattern for me? Don't get there more than once a year, but it would be fun to try one of those old patterns when I do.
