Big Todd 0 Report post Posted September 11, 2006 All my other swaps are tied and ready for mailing so I'M IN. I don't know much about fishing for pike, but I do know they are major minnow eaters. I'll come up with some sort of established pattern and let you know. Just know that the only thing close to a pike fly I've ever tied is a clauser. This will truly be a learning experience for me. If some one could give me a range of good hook sizes, :dunno: I'll get 'em done ASAP. Thanks!
stony 0 Report post Posted September 11, 2006 I'm going to use a #4 Salmon Hook.

Big Todd 0 Report post Posted September 11, 2006 OK guys, I did a little research and have seen a lot of reports of success with solid black flies. So, I'll be doing a fly with black rabbit strips and some silver ribbing. I'll have one suitable to post in a couple of days so you can all see it. The hook will be either a 2 or 4 as suggested. Can't wait to get schooled on Pike flies! As stated before, I'm a newby to Pike flies. :baby: :baby:
