It is very cool but wouldn't a stick, weed or rock also bend it exposing the hook?

I can see it working well if you pull it through the worst of the weeds and brush gently.

It is all a guess, but the big keel of the Texas hook will probably “guide” it through a lot of stuff.

It looks like a great idea, but it's a lot of ... stuff to do a simple job.

I think a regular wire bail type weed guard, tied in the same way, might be as good or better.
