  1. Welcome Clarky. Now your hooked. We all spend way to much time on here reading and posting but it's a great place to spend time. BTW nice flies. Jeremy
  2. I use these. Fly box. I have the double ones. For 7.00 you can't beat them. I have had no problem with them. The bottoms are curved at the front so you can slide the hook up with your finger tip.
  3. That's really nice. I think I'll tie some of them. Can you tell me how to get a head like that? Mine don't come out like that.
  4. If it's a trout fly like an orange and partridge I would post it int he Cold water. I would even post a Coachman wet there since it's for trout. But a more extravagant salmon fly I would put in the Classic streamer.

Geez, I just said I will enter FTOY and you post this  . I can't compete with this. Like I said people will get a good laugh :hyst: . I tie to fish and the fish eat them but for show, thats not me. My buddy at the fly shop shows me fast ties that catch fish. The don't have to be perfect like yours is . Oh well I still try it. I am going to enter this year. I am not the best tyer but what's the worst thing, People laugh at my flies. Oh well, the fish do too. LOL Jeremy
  7. That's a nice setup. It's ashame it won't stay that clean. Mine looked like that for the first 24hrs. At least I think the desk is still there. Jeremy
  8. I want that new Dyna-King Ultimate indexer. I really like the way the vise tips up and it looks like it's really out of the way for small flies. Right now I use a Renzetti Traveler. It's a good vise and I would reccomend it to anybody. Jeremy
  9. IN NJ there is an open season on crows. It is quiet long too. Jeremy
  10. Thanks for all the compliments. Iso, I'm glad it brought back the memories. That's what lifes about. I sat down tonight and tied some caddis dries. I really enjoyed the desk. The only other thing I need is a light to attach to the vise. My light is too big to put down low and to far away when kept up top. I know my wood skill are good since I've been doing it since I was 14 and now I hope to improve my tying skills to match the desk. I'm hoping for about one hour a night. That should help. Now to make the material cabinet for the top. That will be red oak. Jeremy
  11. Thanks. Thats exactly where mine is. I feel like I'm spending time with the wife while I tie and she watches tv and we can still talk if we want to. My back get stiff when I sit to long so I stop frequently and we can watch some tv together and then I go back to tying. I am going to use a drawer in the tv cabinet for the larger material. I'm going to make a small chest of drawers for the top of this for the every day stuff though.
  12. I just finished my new tying desk. It took about 16 hours to complete. It made of cherry and finished with clear poly to keep the natural color. It's still clean since I just brought it in but that will change in about an hour after diner. Check out the pics.
  13. Those Super Days Worth boxes look great. You can carry a lot of different flies instread of a bunch of one type. I need to look for them.
  14. Thats a great fly. I like that pattern
  15. That's nice website. I really like the way you can spin them and see the whole fly.
  16. I really like that fly. I was wondering if that's 2 pheasant wing divided or if it's 1. Thanks Jeremy
  17. I know the feeling. I used to work 2 jobs and try to fish and tie inbetween. We used to fight all the time about not spending time together. I gave up the side work and spend more time home. When i want to go fish all I have to do is take my FIL with me to get him out of the MIL hair and I get out of my wifes hair now and she's happy. I also take her out when she want to go places. We went to Atlantic City a few time and to the shore. It makes her happy and it keeps me happy. She will go fishing on occassion with me but not with fly rod. But that's ok. Today I'm taking the FIL out in the boat on the lake and my wifes glad. I guess a happy line is all you have to find. Give a little and get a little Jeremy
  18. That's a nice bench. I made a cabinet a while back but I'm looking to redo it. I think I may steal your idea for the magnetic strips.
  19. I would be careful of the quality of the materials. I would by a vice like the King Fisher and a few tools and take the materials from home for what you want to tie that week. If it's caddis then take those materials for the week and when home tie something like a adams that uses different material. Each week pick a new fly. Even if you tie 1/2 dozen a week it's 6 more than you would have. Just my .02. Jeremy
  20. WOW nice photo. That looks really neat. Jeremy
  21. WOW! That's very nice. the Finish is incredible. Is that Poly or Varnish. I may build a portable bench for the recliner but nothing like that.
  22. My bench is a closed back cabinet. I have T&G paneling on the back. But I can't see it because of all the junk in the way. Jeremy
