  1. VERY NICE! But I do see one problem... it's not in my box!
  2. I agree on the Hares Ears, Pheasant Tails and Copper Johns. I would also throw in some Montana Stones on a size 8 long nymph hook.
  3. Essential Trout Flies by Dave Hughes is a pretty good book.
  4. Thought I would try my hand on Dremel Poppers
  5. I use em mostly when nymph fishing for smallies.
  6. For Trout: Remove the head and innards. Place a spoonful of butter, some onions, and basil leaf in the body cavity. Wrap in foil and grill. They will steam in the foil. you can usually remove the skin in one or two pieces and the meat will mely in your mouth.
  7. You made it, you name it. I say call it what you want. If somebody doesn't like it, add them to the list of people who don't get to try one.
  8. Hey now, don't knock roadkill. I've seen some very nice pelts come from the roadside.
  9. Just tell your friend that you would like to have the next one. You will have to scrape all of the fat from the pelt and at least coat the skin side with salt. I have only cured a few small, thin hydes myself and a can of table salt works fine for those. However, the deer will be pretty thick so you may want to use something more well suited for the job at hand. Maybe other forum members who are more educated than I in this particular area will chime in with some more advise.
  10. The hyde has probably started to decompose that's why you have had so much slippage. Has it been cured at all? If not I would probably pitch it. Deer hair is pretty easy to come by, just visit some of your local taxidermists. Sometimes they have tons of scraps that they are just going to throw away. Plus, they are already tanned/cured and ready to use.
  11. You should try using ultra chenille on your san juans. It's basically a single string coated in material, where rayon consists of materials caught between two strings and twisted together.
  12. Looks like a great pattern for night fishing. Just hod on tight!
  13. I usually reclaim the hooks and beads about once a year.
  14. Accardo didn't go out of business. Check out breambugs.com. Nice poppers, should be some real Gill grabbers.
  15. Do you want it done fast, or do ya want it done right? - Hank Hill

    deleting pics

I find myself in a position where I need to delete some pics that I posted on this site. How would I go about doing that?
  18. Loos better than my third fly too. Looks like you are off to a good start.
  19. Love the olive one, looks like a real gill grabber! Nice work.
  20. Just add some some flashabou or some krystal flash to your patterns. Like fish women also like shiny, sparkly things.
  21. I use plastic "o" rings as the mandibles on my Hellgramite patterns.
