  1. I'm for you keeping the extras, your treat for hosting
  2. Thought you might like to see the contributions that have arrived so far. The fly boxes were generously donated by J. Stockard. They sent me 14 so I will send the unused ones to CFR as well. I am sure they will find a use for them. Please remember J. Stockard if your are ordering materials, they not only helped this project, but support our troops every Christmas and the Fly Tying Forum as well. I will add a photo when the other three sets are here. Thanks so much to all of you who have supported this project. Tight Lines Always to all of you. Bob
  3. If fly_fischa hosts I'll tie I like the internationality of this forum.
  4. :wallbash: :crying:   :shocking: :jumpy: :frusty: It's here!
  5. Letemgo's package of fish getters arrived today Thanks Ray, they are great.
  6. TB2, Happy Birthday, hope you get a chance to get a line wet. :yahoo:
  7. Fellow tyers, If you go to the Casting for Recovery web site, http://www.castingforrecovery.org/ you can vote for them to receive a $250,000 grant from Pepsi.

  9. A very nice collection of flies arrived from JohnP today. Thanks John! That makes 10 in the house, 4 to go.
  10. Rich, flies are in the mail, hope that they avoid the fly stealing mailmen
  11. That was beautiful, thanks Shoes. Happy Canada Thanksgiving Day  to all of my North of the Border Friends.
  12. Ross, If you take a look at the pictures in Trey Combs' book, you will find that they are tied both ways, I think yours will catch fish which is really all that matters!
  13. John, Great set of Steelhead flies in my mail today. Thanks for hosting and thanks to all the tiers. These are headed North with me next week. John, I would say your first swap was a big success.
  14. Troutbum2's beautiful flies arrived today, Riffleriversteelheadslayer flies arrived today as well, a great looking bunch of flies. That makes 9 out of 14 sets here with several in the mail. Thanks again to all who have tied for this. :clapping:
  15. I'm going to go "Old School" with the very first fly I learned to tie, "Grey Hackle Yellow (dry)". 55 years ago I think I tied it on a size 10, but will do a #14 for this swap.
  16. I'm hoping you are including care and feeding instructions :jumpy:
  17. Wow, I got four very nice bunches of flies in todays mail. Thanks to Big E, Mickalo, Geozip and Gpd4.
  18. No Problem, I set a due date of October 22, but I can give some leway if needed.
  19. I see some familiar names here so "I'm in" for my first time.
  20. The following is from the rules and policies of FTF swaps, listed at the top of the swaps and contests forum,"2. (Toe tag flies) each fly will need to have a small piece of paper attached to the bend of the hook with the swappers name on it. (This makes it easy for swapmister to divide up prier to being sent back)" Note that the rule says "small piece of paper". I like to include the pattern name as well as my screenname, but that's it. If you want to include the recipe, do it in a post, not on the toe tag. I would have trouble fitting twelve flies with that large a toe tag into an Altoids box. I am currently in a swap with 25 other tiers, you would need two boxes to send them back.
  21. Seems like a lot of trouble to me. I may not want or need a SBS for every fly in a swap. In the past when I have received a fly in a swap that I wanted to know more about I just send a PM to the tier. I always thought that was one of the reasons for toe tags. Just my two cents worth.
  22. Scott, Look forward to seeing the flies. Thanks for the offer, but all the extras are going to Casting for Recovery.
  23. Very nice collection of flies arrived from Utyer today. Thank You!
  24. Flies are in the mail. The Nelson's Caddis was created by Nelson Ishiyama and was first featured in Fly Fisherman in the 60"s. If anyone is interested I would be glad to send photo copies of the original article.
