Hope Mr Smallie likes my offering. Ive probably tied about a dozen deer hair flies in my life. This is the first one in about 2 years. I need lots of practice and id like to learn how to add small dots of color and also how to keep the colors in a uniform pattern. Thanks for looking!

What would be a good heavy streamer hook for EP flies? I need a size 8 and 10 for small minnow patterns. I tied a few with some hooks i had, but the fly doesnt sink to fast. Cant use lead wire cause i want the fly to ride hook down. Thanks

Perfectly pierced my ear with a Clouser minnow one time. Now thats accurate!

Riffle, hole, run. Try em all. Most of time fish can be found in hole. Smallies arent as finicky as trout about what you toss at them. Get Bob Clousers book Fly Fishing for Smallmouth Bass. Very helpful book.

The other day i caught 19 smallies on my 6wt in my local creek. I was throwing a Deceiver fly and doing quite well. Right before i left i decided to take one last cast. I started stripping in streamer and then let it sink for about 3 seconds. I saw line twitch, so i set the hook and thought i had a monster smallie. Low and behold the carp sucked up my Deceiver fly. Id say he would go 4lbs? What fun that fish was! Didnt know carp would hit a baitfish type fly?

Any baitfish patterns such as Clousers, Decievers, EP flies. Also any bottom dwelling creatures. Crayfish, Hellgrammites, Stoneflys, Madtoms. That should attract Mr Bronzeback! Dont forget to toss topwater at him also and hang on!

Yah, its pretty much my best work. ~Napoleon Dynamite~ Lol. So will this work fellow fly fisherman? Its my take on the umbrella rig that conventional fisherman use. I would guess i could throw it on a 6wt? Is it legal? Guess i better check. Its made from a simple piece of .026 wire for making inline spinners. I could make one that has 4 or 5 flies on it i guess, but that would be too heavy for my fly rod. Im thinking you could use Clousers, EP flies or any streamers? Give me some input please. Musky/Pike fisherman could put 2 big EP flies and toss it and i think that could be exciting. Crappie guys could toss one like this up next to a downed tree and maybe entice some crappie to bite?
