  1. I received mine and was real pleased to find a nice streamer wallet with a cool set of flies and an extra leader tossed in for good measure. No name on it but whoever you are thanks for making my Christmas even more special!
  2. OLB-- Mine are on the way. I have been in training all week at work and that has me way behind on things. My apologies. There are a few extra patterns in there for you being the swapmeister Thanks
  3. I would like to join please Thank you
  4. I like them alot. The upturned eye gives you some added hooking room and it holds fish well. I think you will be pleased with your selection. I like to tye this easy pattern on that hook a)slip a pearl glass bead on the hook--I like a size 20 best b)tie in thread (your choice of color) just behind the glass bead at the hook eye c) wrap thread back to hook bend covering entire shank d) attach copper wire for a rib at the hook bend e) wrap thread back to the glass bead f) rib copper wire all the way to the glass bead (maybe 3 or 4 turns evenly spaced) g) whip finish. It took me longer to type this up than it would be to tie that pattern ha ha ha This is a super quick to tie midge imitator but VERY effective pattern. I fish it all year with success. I tie them up in black, brown, grey, olive, blue, tan, white, and varigated ones work well too. Tie in a white with a black thread rib for example. Dont overlook some monofilament thread overtop some crystal flash--that is sweet too! Again, I think you will be very happy with them. Good luck
  5. I love my Peak too! It is functional and looks cool and i love how it holds the hooks. Wise choice.
  6. I would suggest going with a saltwater type streamer--something 6 or 8 inches long using synthetic hair and lots of flash. I encountered the same situation in May and popped a 6lb 9oz largemouth on such a pattern. Big bait = big fish I layered light pink, smoke, chartruce, and then dark blue congo hair with flash in between layers. I then added a small piece of braided pearl corsair type tubing as a head assemby, added prismatic eyes, and topped it all off with some epoxy. That fly shimmied and shaked and that biggun ate it on the first cast! Good luck
  7. Just finished the last Epoxy Baitfish Streamer for a swap at 615am this morning. Next project is some 18 and 20 parachute BWOs--then Klinkhaamers--then some more Soft hackles
  8. Peak makes a nice vise and is cost friendly.
  9. Mine are ready to be mailed. I went TINY and made up a Peacock and Pheasant Emerger on a size 22 hook. It will serve as a great baetis emerger but also double as a very passable midge pattern too.
  10. If there is room I would like to join the swap please. Pattern to be determined but it was be some version of a baetis emerger. Thank you
  11. A Peak for me. I really have enjoyed the solid hook holding and the ability to rotate the pattern as I need to. Plus it was easy on the wallet. It is a great vise for the price!
  12. With the colder weather I am thinking that a beadhead under a strike indicator would be my first choice. I would fish pocket water and current seams with that rig and maybe add a trailing glass bead midge or soft hackle as a trailer fly (if legal). I am partial to GRHE or PT nymphs but a Prince or Copper John ought to work too. I tie my own special patterns on a beadhead chasis that works pretty well. I think presentation will be more important than exactly matching the hatch. Good luck!
