  7. I think A.K. Best calls it a 'third hand' but it's really just a clothes pin for holding material when you're working with it. I find it a real nice addition and use it all the time. Bamboo
  8. QUOTE sometimes even some butt rock Maybe I'm showing my age but, what's butt rock? Bamboo

    Tying Area

Whoa! Honestly, I've seen a lot of smaller fly tying section in fly shops. Now, just add a recliner, a fridge and urinal and you'll never have to leave. Bamboo

    What do you pay ?

Looks like we're on the high end. Massachusetts is $30/yr. - fishing only and the state is so small that I end up buying out of state licenses for NY, CT, VT and ME every year. Bamboo
  13. I got my flies this weekend. Nice job everyone. Thanks Bob for another well run swap! SDH- Have you ever successfully tied one of these on your line? Bamboo
  14. Al Beatty's Rotary Tying Techniques video was a big help to me. He's supposed to have a book based on this video sometime next year. Bamboo
  15. OSD- Whatever works for you is fine with me. Bamboo
  16. Dropped mine in the mail today! Alway a relief. Bamboo
  17. Thanks Al- I was more concerned that I wasn't doing something right and the fact that some flies did turn out looking better than others led me to believe that I was missing something. Glad to hear there is a book coming out. This is definitely an area that there is a scarcity of information. -Bamboo
  18. Use markers to color the dryer sheets. I've used them for wing cases but never with wing burners. Bamboo
  19. Just to add confusion... I've always patched the inside. Bamboo
  20. I haven't done it myself but have been told it works... Take your waders into some dark place like a closet, put a flashlight (turned on) inside the foot of the wader and the light shining through will help locate pin holes in breathable waders. In addition to aquaseal, loon outdoors make a product called 'sunpatch' or something like that for patching waders. Cures in about 5 minutes if exposed to sun. Loon products are available at most flyshops. Bamboo
