Finally, I've found MY contest! By the way, Twofingerz, that's not an ugly fly, it looks like a good bass pattern. Bill

Nice mouse, Daryn, and a lot less work to tie than most! Bill

I'm in -- 3/0 Bluefish Streamer. Bill

Neat, Graham, thanks for sharing it! Bill

Just about two months and three weeks to go here in Maine. Bill

I use them a lot for separating out the hooks on which I've pinched barbs, and those that I've sharpened. Bill

The kits are nice, and they save space, but I just pack my vice and materials (in ziplock bags and plastic boxes) into a canvas bag with handles and hit the road. Bill

Nice, Joni. I'm afraid that mag glasses and a stationary lens might not be enough to get me focused on #32s. Bill

ridderbos: Nice work! What size hooks are those on? Bill

Thanks again, Will, for all your hard work in pulling off the contest. Thanks also to everybody who submitted flies. Took me a multi-dram dose of single malt to complete my deliberations and voting, and it was cheerful duty. This was my first time participating in FTOTY, and it was humbling to see my flies up there, especially when I enlarged the images and picked up on nuances I'd not noticed before shipping them off. Guess I'll start tying earlier next time. Bill

Beautiful minimalist approach! Bill

Nice looking fly, Fred -- a good variation on the Clouser minnow. Now, where's that badger patch I've got? Bill
-
Soft-hackle: Very nice fly, and great tying instructions and tips -- thanks! Fishigan: Do they still make Genny Dark? Spent too much time enjoying it on tap in college. Bill
-
Nice flies, with intriguing material! Bill
-
Chris: Good work -- I'd have a hard time just seeing the hooks, much less tying on them! Bill
-
I'd guess that it will dry fine as long as the epoxy is cured, but I'll be interested to hear what happens. Bill

I'm with Redwings and phg -- fun stuff should be in hard copy! Bill
-
Nice job -- I'll look forward to hearing that you've caught a fish on it! Bill
-
Beautiful little baitfish! I've got to tie some of these. Bill

It's 8F here in central Maine at 11 a.m., but it looks like we'll get some colder stuff this week. Now, if we could just get some more snow! Bill

Good one, Daryn! Bill

Joel: Haven't spun hair since gel-spun/Fireline came out, but Kevlar used to work well for me, as long as I didn't cut the hair with it. Have never tried stacking for color combinations, but guess I'll have to give it a shot. I've got boxes of deer hair that's decades old -- hope it'll still do the job! Bill

Good one -- thanks! Bill
