  1. Caloosa, I would imagine Lake Osborne also has them, like the whole Lake Ida chain should. But I have never fished in there. Chime if you find yourself this way some day, just know that you may be the expert of the two.
  2. I did, that is why I looked it up. And I found no corroboration. Like I said before, I suspect it maybe an enterprise raising them them in private land. To me that is not truly wild, but that is an opinion. And I might be completely wrong on the whole thing anyways. I still would like to know if you find anything.
  3. I would even take it further and say that an assortment of Mustad 34007 and 34011 in the right sizes for your tying is all you will need.
  4. I am no expert. I have caught three in total and I only really know of ONE place where they live around here. I am in Palm Beach County. You would probably improve your chances further south. Miami's Blue Lagoon comes up often when I search for peacock fishing. Watch the youtube videos to get an idea.
  5. It is raining, so here is what I am up to...
  6. Troutguy, Great looking fly. Is that silicone to make the taper?
  7. I do not understand what the troubles are.
  8. Another beauty. You are on a roll. What is your photo setup?
  9. Can't come up with anything about wild turkeys in Spain other than a reference in a document from the Ministry of the Environment to birds raised in captivity in the Canary Islands. Ironic. They should be raising canaries. Let me know if you find anything. Time to reach for the other Wild Turkey.
  10. I am sure there are some, but I doubt they are truly wild turkeys. Maybe a case of private owners raising them in a farm/hunting ground. Now I am going to have to look it up...! Thanks, Buddy...!
  11. When you think about it, this review makes more sense than the others, since he has already used it. Nothing more stupid than the "unboxing" reviews of anything: It looks like it was packaged properly.... The tool looks like the picture on the web... This metal looks pretty hard...! And so on.
  12. It was on the fly from the August flies thread, minus the collar. You were right!
  13. South Fla Warmwater Slam this morning on a shaved head muddler minnow: bluegill, bass and peacock bass. No great size to any of them but the peas are always so pretty.
  14. I am not sure what you call finesse fishing. To me, finesse fishing is super small, super quiet and stealthy. That fly is going to land with some splash, push a lot of water with that collar and get slammed by some hungry (large) predator!!! Not very "finesse-y" at all !!! It is finesse tying to me. More elaborate than usual in a smaller hook than usual. I ended up cutting the collar too. We will see..
  15. Don't get me started on kayaks. I paid $450 for my fishing kayak 10+ years ago. Could not get the same now for $1500. Not even a pedal model either. They ask for as much as they know enough people will pay for the product. It is a business. That is what marketing is for. Sometimes they make mistakes, it is not worth it and it ends in the bargain bin. Sometimes they make other mistakes, it is worth a lot more and they remarket and up the price for next year. Old Florida/Nautilus was an example of that, if memory serves.
  16. This is a finesse fly for what I am used to. Respectfully submitted, all opinions welcome.
  17. Well... Not sure about Adams, others will know. But those are good feathers for large streamers, bass, saltwater, etc.
  18. What did you spun the hair on for the section between the hooks? I think it looks pretty good as it is. Then again, my deer hair work... Well...
  19. ... And a bunny strip it is. Going to test it now...
  20. I always thought these bruisers look the meanest of all fish.
  21. Here are my first flies, I think, in this thread. I am an equal opportunity tier.
