  1. Perhaps because he wanted to spark a little conversation about the flies, tools, or ingredients, or because he wanted to be a little more active. Maybe he hasn't been around to know what the monthly thread is... doesn't matter I guess, what's it hurtin? Good flies by the way. If i want to catch some gills I find they like olive and black colors, and materials with a lot of movement like marabou. If you can tie a neat streamer about 1" long that is a good bet too.
  2. Nice fly And I have that same poster
  3. Truly Awesome box full of dries from Netabrookie I appreciate this very much and the pics dont do justice but still good Merry Christmas to all!
  4. I use it quite a bit, utc 70 and 140. Works well for most of my nymphs and streamers. I like the colors and I'm always spinning my bobbin with it as I tie, one way or another. Dries I use almost all veevus, especially medium and small I use 16/0. When I use gsp I use veevus, the only 1 I've tried admittedly. Utc is more picky about a good bobbin I notice
  5. I dig the soft hackle with blue rib. Nicely tied
  6. Emerald shiner. Silver tinsel body Baitfish emulator belly Rainbow Krystal flash Ep fiber upper body Holo eyes

  8. Got mine and will put them to good use. Eastern fly I'll have to give yours a closer look, I've not used that style before
  9. Come up early next week, I might take Monday or Tuesday off. I would have mailed mine today but I wrecked my car after work... I'm waiting at rental car place in Erie now
  10. On the ball you are Just saw I already had it anyway haha
  11. I'll be needing an address also please
  12. Thanks it's a staple here. I use two different techniques... One is to untwist the skein of yarn for lighter colors and make lightly spun bubbles. Makes them translucent when wet for cLear water. The other is to fold a piece of yarn in half and tie it in with a little loop in back then make two loops at a time as you work forward. Mixing 2 colors makes a scrambled egg
  13. Oh Vic it's on it way to you
  14. I'd feel pretty much obligated to join...

  18. Psychoprince yours are in. One more to go and I'll get to work I was planning on posting pictures, but not identifying who tied what... PM me if you have thoughts about that positive or negative
  19. I'll send you some pink flies My mother beat breast cancer!
  20. Jjs89yj yours arrived today thanks So every one knows where we are at, I have gotten sets from all but PJ2 and psychoprince. PJ2 may have enemies in the postal service because I should have recieved his some time ago but I hope they show up very soon. Psychoprince contacted me about some, uh, extenuating circumstances and I will give him a couple extra days to get them in. (Edit - They have been mailed) I will have all sets sorted and turned around quickly as we finish up. Just a side note, I got two packages with prepaid postage stickers, and the post office does not honor them after the date purchased. No big deal, but just in the future its best to include return postage in the form of stamps for swaps. Thanks again to all participants and good fishing!
