  1. Received the flies today and they look great. I didn't have many terrestrials so I'm really looking forward to trying these. Thanks @WWKimba for all of the additional goodies and hosting the swaps.
  2. Caterpillars are on the way. Also wanted to show my first attempt at a salmon fly using the coastal deer hair kindly provided by @dogfacedoc
  3. Foam caterpillars. My first time working with foam. Working with fire makes it hard to get uniform legs, unfortunately this is my least consistent batch. I’m just getting busy and want to make sure the flies get out. I always appreciate any tips or feedback.

  6. Checked the tracking and mine just say delayed. Hopefully they get there before the 28th.

  8. Just got mine. Haven’t had a chance to look at them yet. I will post a picture when I get a chance.
  9. I decided I’m going to tie up some pheasant tail X-caddis flies. If you end up on the Logan River in Utah I know they work well there.
  10. Flies headed your way. I couldn’t decide which to send so I am sending out a set of each.
  11. Not the best picture, but some great flies, Tier 1 flies. Thank you @WWKimba for running these swaps and for the gifts. Edit- I misread, the fly listed as weighted is actually the unweighted Sawyer’s pheasant tail
  12. Just received mine today. I haven’t had a chance to open it and take pictures yet. Now I guess I need to start working on the wet flies.
  13. I'm probably going to tie both and send the least horrible of the two out as part of the swap.
  14. Sign me up. I’m still not sure of the pattern yet. I have yet to tie a decent soft hackle.
  15. Received a nice box of flies in the mail today. Along with some materials for me to experiment with. Thanks for hosting @WWKimba
  16. I smashed mine prior to sending, but like you I always smash the barbs. I didn’t even think about it.
  17. Thanks for the info. I have been cutting the foam by hand and I liked the slightly wider look, but if a thinner one is more attractive to fish then I will definitely give it a try. The tail has just been a mostly stripped rabbit strip. I am guessing to get thinner I need to just cut in half length wise.
  18. All I was able to track down was veevus 100d. I hadn’t seen the above post. Hopefully it will work ok. That stuff seems almost like unwaxed dental floss.
  19. I have been using a little comb that came where the beard trimmer to remove underfur. It always seems that after use no the hair stacker there is still a little left. I have never noticed a waxiness on the deer hair. I will have to check the couple pieces I have to see if either has it. Gel spun thread sounds like it could be interesting to work with. My scissors are a cheap pair, hopefully they will be up to the task and not make them any worse than they already are for the finer work.
  20. Thank you. I have edited for correct spelling.
