harleyhunter 0 Report post Posted November 17, 2005 Great fish man. I never thought to make this pattern before but now after all the talk about it I'm sure going to add a couple to my box. What sizes are best? And what are other color/fur variations? Best Wishes, Sam
burninbriar 0 Report post Posted November 17, 2005 I tyed this one on a #12 hook. I got the pattern from the data base on this site. I just started tying my own flys and this is one of my first. I used natural fox squirl tail and black hackle, I dont know what the hackle comes from becouse the package just says wooly bugger hackle. It was really great catching this fish on one of my first fly tying attempts. When the water was really clear we were haveing good results with a pattern my brother from Az showed me called disco midges, we were tying them on #18 hooks. dhchin 0 Report post Posted November 17, 2005 Awesome Fish! BTW - I use my dog's hair in a lot of patterns. He is a sheltie, so I get brown, black and white from him. I use the white for posts on parachutes and the rest where I need it.
