Canadian Fly Fisher Magazine has decided to sponsor the FTOTY contest again this year and has donated some really great prizes. I cannot thank CFF enough for their generosity. If you have never seen there magazine I would suggest picking one up or getting a subscription. Here is a break down of the prizes

• Each of the 19 category winners will receive a Jim Teeny Fly Line
• 2nd Place Overall Winner will receive a Marryat MX Plus 10-13wt fly reel($1000 value)
• 3rd Place overall winner will receive a $250 William Joseph Gift Certificate

The Canadian Fly Fisher Magazine, Canada’s leading & longest running fly fishing publication, is pleased to announce it’s sponsorship of the Fly Tying Forum’s 3rd annual Fly Tyer of the Year Contest 2006!

 

The Canadian Fly Fisher Magazine will be providing prizes to the winners of all fly tying categories, over 15 in total, as well as providing the 2nd and 3rd place prizes for the best overall flies as voted by FTF members World-wide.

 

“We are proud and excited to continue our partnership with such a dynamic group of fly tying addicts” says Nick Pujic, managing editor of CFF Magazine. “By supporting the Fly Tying Forum, along with the Fly Tyer of the Year 2006 contest, we are in turn supporting fly tying creativity around the World. Have you seen the stuff these guys come up with? It’s unbelievable!”

 

This year prize lot will consist of Jim Teeny Inc fly lines, a top-shelf Marryat MX Plus 10-13wt dual action fly reel ($1,000 USD MSRP) and a $250 USD William Joseph gift certificate.

 

Furthermore, the results of the 2006 FTOTY contest will be published in the May 2007 issue of the Canadian Fly Fisher Magazine.

 

On behalf of the Canadian Fly Fisher Magazine and all supporting parties, we would like to encourage all fly tyers to participate in this year’s event and send in their entries. This contest promotes the art we all love and is key in attracting newcomers to fly fishing & fly tying.
