shmish 0 Report post Posted October 6, 2007 I tied a few flies last week. these included clouser minnows, a gurgler (my own blue bastardized version of a purple gurgler), woolly bugger, and killer bug. The deer hair caddis was the most difficult. I had two takes with that fly yesterday and lost one to a trout. I also caught a pink salmon with a blue clouser. The flies can be seen here: http://www.zooomr.com/z/photos/zoom/3432263/size-32/ The killer bugs didn't have the right color to them I don't think. As well, I'm not sure the hook was right for them. I used a nymph hook but I don't think there was enough room between the shank and the tip of the barb. s

flykid 0 Report post Posted October 6, 2007 Let the fish be the judge! They rated you A++++! Nice ties. If the fish bite them you're doing well!
3FL2 0 Report post Posted October 8, 2007 What I've learn from tying flies only a month now, That the first flies you tie will teach you how to tie the correct way for the rest of your life. Those flies are good. I tie flies that are ugly sometimes, but i find that's the ones that catch fish.
