Classic Dry Fly Swap

Recommended Posts

Well, I divided up the flies today, so when Wildman's flies

arrive I'll be all set to ship them off to you. Obviously, I

didn't think before I said that we each tie 12 flies, when

there were only 12 participants. That, along with the fact

that Scott V had to drop out, means that I have at least

one extra fly from each of you (not counting the "gift" flies

you sent). I'll return them with your sets.

Mike, hosting counts for something and does take a bit of time (I haven't hosted here yet, but I have on several other boards). So, the extra's are your added reward as far as I'm concerned.

Received Wildman's flies today! :yahoo: He went to a lot of

effort and extra expense to get them here, having had to work

the fires. Thank you, Sir.

Your sets will be on their way to you tomorrow.

It's been a blast, guys. I've enjoyed it. Thanks to everyone

who participated.

Keep any extras I might have sent also. Thanks for posting the pics. My wife says that mine look like all the rest...for me, I'll take that as a compliment. Thank you for hosting!

Nice Pics Mike. Man I really need to work on my wing proportions.

Your wings may have been just a tad long and thin, Rich. I like tall wings,

but after a point, it'll effect the fly's balance. Just tell everyone that it's a new

winging style that's all the rage in Europe.

I should have responded a couple days ago... I got my set. They look great, folks!!! I'm going to see if I can learn to tie up a couple of them.

Mike - I love the pictures! Wish I could take such good close-ups. Really helps see how the flies are tied.

Also, if you all happen to think about it -- I've been tying for less than a year. I want to improve my skills and the only way I can do so is to get good, constructive criticism. So, please, PM me with your critique of my catskill. [brutal honesty is what I'm after. I don't want to hear a simple "looks good."] Mike has already given me some feedback at my request - and its greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

JohnR
