Woolly Bugger

Well I had to get in on this but I had a small obstacle, no marabou, and no chenille. So I looked around the house and cut a blue rope handle off of a gift bag instead of chenille. I used what seems to be fox fur for the tail. Theres a gold rib but the ribbing diameter is so small you can't really see it, but it should be enough to create a little flash in the water. Also, I didn't have the right style of hook so I stole a double hook off of one of my hoola poppers. This is the first woolly bugger I've ever tied so be nice biggrin.gif

Ah........No.

I was somewhat reserved at calling mine a bugger but that certainly isn't one  laugh.gif

I would consider that a "Klaussen Bugger"... laugh.gif

We would be honored to have it in our new Bugger swap

That goes for the rest of you creative fellas as well.... unsure.gif

the darker color is actually a bright blue. It is from the gift bag rope I used in place of chenille. I tied it in at the head, then wrapped it back to the tail, there was about 3" excess, and at first my goal was to have the rope coming out past the tail about a half inch or so to give a fish something to aim at( kinda like a "jig and pig") , but it didn't look right and I was gonna just cut the hole thing off, then when I noticed how the rope flared at the end I decided to cut it just a litle shorter than the tail and have the 2 tone effect. But first I had to manipulate the tail so the blue would be in the center of it and not just on one side. After showing the tail hairs who was boss boxing.gif I cut the blue rope the desired length. Hope that helps

Leaky... that braid is pretty neat! There goes another fly right on the To-Do list! smile.gif

Thanks for all the welcomes and compliments. Something of a New Year's Res. to be more of a participant.

Now my biggest goal is to post enough to get out of the "Bait Fisherman" category! Ouch! cry.gif
