fshng84 0 Report post Posted April 25, 2016 Thanks mikchell, been playing around with a new camera and trying to get different angles. Will keep your suggestions in mind with the next video. As always thanks for the great feedback!
fshng84 0 Report post Posted April 26, 2016 Another round at the local pond, caught more Bluegill and Sunfish using a Foam Grasshopper. Not as big as yesterday but did get a nice Bruiser Bass that went 19" in size. Posted pictures on the Fishing Bulletin Board and got some action shots posted in the YouTube video. Today's Video. Bluegill went for a Grasshopper, Bass went for the Bluegill like yesterday but this time, we were able to bring the Bass in! Fun stuff on a 4 weight! mikechell 0 Report post Posted April 26, 2016 I like that video. I am surprised the bass ran that long and you still only hooked it in the corner of the mouth. Nicely done. I like the underwater shots, too. I am planning to try some of that, but the water is so dark here, I don't think it will look like much.
RickZieger 0 Report post Posted April 26, 2016 Headed out to a pond this morning. Trying to beat the rain . Just got to the waters edge and saw a flash of light. Headed home. Rick

One camera I added a polarized filter using an old pair of sunglasses. Helped a little. Hope to have more videos... just gotta a rain delay to deal with today. mikechell 0 Report post Posted April 26, 2016 Headed out to a pond this morning. Trying to beat the rain . Just got to the waters edge and saw a flash of light. Headed home. Rick Rick!!! You let a little lightning spoil your fishing??? Don't you know that many predators are attracted to the electrical signals given off by living organisms? If you get hit, and it travels down the fishing line to your fly ... the big fish will certainly go on a rampage to get to that fly !!!
RickZieger 0 Report post Posted April 27, 2016 Mikechell, I am not sure that it would travel down the rod and line with all the lead in my behind as I can't move real fast now. Also I remember what a lightning strike did to the cottonwood tree we used to have in the back yard. Rick
fshng84 0 Report post Posted April 27, 2016 Two Bass and a nice 10.5 Sunfish submitted to the Fishing Bulletin Board today by one of our readers! Here is the Sunfish!
mikechell 0 Report post Posted April 28, 2016 That is a Green Sunfish ... in full breeding colors (white/orange fin edges). Beautiful fish, not a record, but huge for the species.
fshng84 0 Report post Posted April 29, 2016 It's a nice one; the fisherman that submits the pics has some honey holes in the area; has caught some nice Bass, Bluegill, and Sunfish!
fshng84 0 Report post Posted April 30, 2016 Been some time since we fished the Feeder Creek. Checked it out yesterday, and overall the creek is looking good. Not sure what today's rain will do to it. No worries, good excuse to come back again! Saw some nice looking Bass lurking in the area. Bluegill and Sunfish were also roaming about. Went with the Foam Grasshopper and caught a number of Bluegill and Sunfish. Did get several Bass to look at our fishing fly, but all opted to move on instead of strike. Lots of brush made it tough on casting, good thing we practiced roll casting last year. Came in handy this round! Yesterday's Video.
fshng84 0 Report post Posted May 1, 2016 Fished Saturday. Caught about 20+ fish. Largest fish was a Bass that went about 14". Used a variant of the Foam Grasshopper and a Saddle Hackle Streamer. Caught all but one fish on the Foam Grasshopper! Lotta fun on a 2WT Fiberglass Rod! Saturday's Video.
fshng84 0 Report post Posted May 3, 2016 Quick trip to a local pond; caught twelve bass and lost several others. No Bruisers - largest went about 13". Still lotta fun as even these little Bass put a great bend on a two weight rod! Today's Video
fshng84 0 Report post Posted May 4, 2016 Tried a new pond this round. Had passed by this little pond in the past but never stopped to fish it. On a whim decided to give it a try. Caught little Bass and Bluegill using the scaled down Foam Grasshopper. No Bruiser but still lots of fun! Today's Video. Was tough dealing with the trees and the overhanging branches but did get enough casts to hook a few!
