TheCream 0 Report post Posted May 8, 2017 Thanks Cream, I love your flie creations! That jointed pattern inspired me to gather up the stuff I had hanging around my bench and create this pattern I hope to present to the Northern Pike in the next week or two. This is on a 2 1/2" shaft tied to a 5/0 Gama... worm hook. I also fish weedy water, so I chose a mono loop weed guard to sit on top of the hook shank, to also support the rabbit strip tailing. A first for me and I'm curious what results may come when fished. I like it!
TheCream 0 Report post Posted May 8, 2017 I did a SBS on this pattern for my blog, here's the link for anyone that's interested: http://bobcathollow.blogspot.com/2017/05/weedless-murdich-sbs.html Just an update, the fly fished and tested well. Cold, windy, nasty day to field test on Saturday, but the fly caught 2 bass. The concerns for me were snag resistance, fouling, and hooking fish with this hook style/material flowing over the hook. Aced every test.
fshng2 0 Report post Posted May 8, 2017 Classic Big Ass Popper Will need a 8-10 wt to toss Made from foam "Marshmellows" from Michael's Nice Mike.I've recently been tying with those marshmallows, they float real good. Can you post a picture looking from front to back so I can see the profile? Yeah sure just give me a little while to get it done..I have to post & take pics with my phone and my internet service sucks here! Great looking cork popper too, you do top shelf work! I am really interested in the marshmallow foam head that you did and the final shape. I bought some from Amazon and thought they were tuff to shape. How did you shape yours? Mike West 0 Report post Posted May 9, 2017 Fshng2 Send me a link to what you bought on Ebay so I'm sure we are talking about the same thing. They are very easy to shape with a drill or Dremel tool with some 120-800 grit sandpaper or Emery boards The hardest part is getting rid of the "Fuzzies" on the foam for a clean paint job. And Thank you for the compliment.

Mike West 0 Report post Posted May 10, 2017 Thx flytier Yep those are them I just run a needle through the center then put a dab of CA glue on like a 1/16" drill bit and sand them down on a Dremel tool with sandpaper Heck of a deal too
