  6. Looks like we need one or two more that are game and I'll get it started. I'm sure some of the carp patterns would work for pike also. I've hooked a bass or two on carp flys so you may get a pike on one too.
  7. I do fish for carp and have a few original patterns that I tried last summer.
  8. I'm wanting to start a new swap. This would be my first one to run so I want something not too over the top with the size of the group maybe 8 to 10. If anyone has any ideas as to the guidelines let me know. I haven't messaged the admins yet but I do qualify. Shout if you want a spot reserved or have a pattern idea. Great ties and I look forward to getting them in the water. Thanks to all!!
  19. I don't know that area as well as someone who is closer but I can say that google maps has no idea about what these rivers and lakes look like. I live in Northern Michigan in the Lower Peninsula and I was looking on google maps for some local rivers and they had some on there and when I went to find them with a print out I have no idea where they came up with them. The "rivers" didn't exist. I'm not saying that they are wrong but for my home town they were not right LOL. I can say this about the salmon around here they like wooley buggers in neon pink, neon green and any other bright color that you can think of. These seem to work the best and are very veritile for both big salmon and some of the smaller species as well. If your ever in the Alpena area in the mitten let me know I would like nothing more than to cast with a fellow fly fisherman.
  20. No hurrys on my part. Where were Meraz's flies coming from? some where in Mexico I believe.
  21. sorry guys, is out of my hands... I have faith they will come LOL no worries its not your fault.
  22. I see no problem in waiting. After all its not his fault that the postal service is slow LOL. And we take our postal service for granted, more often than not we get our packages in a week or less....
  23. NAAAHHH!! I wouldn't even bother, there probably isn't any in there any ways
  24. Where I'm at I can see the bottom so I really have it good LOL. There are days that I cant see anything but those are few and far between. Most of the time the thing that is a hinderance is the didstance off shore the fish are. I olny have anout fifteen or twenty feet behind me to cast so I am limited as to how far I can cast. I'm trying to get out to another good location that is about a half hour north of me an there the clarity is ecceptional. Its one of the clearest lakes I have ever seen. Like thirty feet or more and you have no problem marking fish.
  25. In reality I don't really pay much attention to direction as much as which way they are pointed. If you can drop the fly in front of them close enough they will see it. I don't have the "chocolate milk" water but I only have maybe two to three feet visability. To be honest the only thing you can do is watch and when you spot one just let loose and get it in their path it's the easiest way to fish them I think.
